Conditions of extreme stress require extraordinary countermeasures. Resilience training helps us be at our best, especially in tough times. Specifically, resilience training helps us prevent and recover from stress-related conditions (including PTSD, suicide, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, problem anger, sleep and relationship problems)—while optimizing mental well-being and performance under pressure. Each of us needs to learn the skills of resilience and then teach these skills to others.
Practical evidence-based and theory-driven resilience principles and skills will be explored. Coping skills taught in traditional clinical, elite training, and positive psychology settings will be explained—including cognitive-behavioural, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence.
